This two day workshop - organised by the Computational Science & Engineering Department at STFC Daresbury Laboratory - offers hands-on training in CUDA and v9.0 PGI Accelerator Fortran and C99 compilers. This requires delegates to bring a laptop running SSH for remote access to local resources (Daresbury GPU cluser).
If you do not have access to a laptop please let us know in advance.

The speakers at this workshop will be: Gernot Ziegler from NVIDIA and Douglas Miles from the Portland Group.
CUDA
CUDA is a parallel computing architecture developed by NVIDIA. Programmers use 'C for CUDA' (C with NVIDIA extensions) to code algorithms for execution on the GPU. CUDA provides a low and a higher level API, standard libraries, and an interface to Fortran.

PGI 9.0 Accelerator Fortran Compiler
The Portland Group has added accelerator extensions to its Fortran and C99 compilers to support directive-based programming of CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPUs. Using PGI Accelerator compilers, programmers can accelerate Linux applications on x64+GPU platforms by adding OpenMP-like complier directives to existing high-level standard-compliant Fortran and C programs and then recompiling with appropriate compiler options.
